Modern Farmhouse Cottage
When it comes to renovations, if you’re lucky, sometimes the biggest challenges turn into the biggest wins:
When we realized we’d need to replace most of the existing framing in this old home because of rot, we used the opportunity to re-frame the roof for a more open concept and vaulted ceilings — completely changing the mood of this home.
This fully renovated modern farmhouse cottage now feels spacious around every light-filled corner, even at a modest 1470 square feet.
Step indoors and you’ll notice the calm inspired by the color palette and natural wood finishes that lend a scandanavian touch to the interior design.
For this renovation, we worked with Reuger Riley to re-design the living/kitchen area, add a master suite, mudroom and laundry. We also lengthened the house to add much needed space to the bedrooms. We completely gutted the house, adding all new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, new insulation, sealed crawl space, new windows and doors, and all new finishes inside and out.
