Picture this: you’ve found a heavenly slice of land here in Western NC. An old horse ranch nestled in the mountains. Perfect blend of woods and sun. Gorgeous views. But the house on the property just isn’t… special. What now?
For these creative homeowners, the answer was simple. Buy the property for the land, mostly. Preserve the foundation of the lackluster spec home, but entirely transform the space.
First we worked with them to understand their farmhouse vision. And then we gutted the whole house to the studs. We reconstructed the home as an open, airy farmhouse. Downstairs, we transformed the basement into a guest suite, complete with kitchen and bath.
Some favorite touches: a spacious screened-in porch to enjoy their view, locally milled 10” wide pine floors, locally milled bevel siding, and even a standalone pottery studio.
